• There are 3 billion people who live on less than US $2 a day. 1.4 billion people live on less than uS $1.25 a day - the definition of those who live under the condition of “extreme global poverty.” 17
• Approximately 9.2 million children under the age of 5 die each year, mostly from preventable diseases. That’s approximately 25,000 children each day. 17

Pray that god will send workers to not only preach to the poor, but to act on behalf of the poor. deuteronomy 15:7 says, “If among you, one of your brothers should become poor, in any of your towns within your land that the Lord your god is giving you, you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother.”
